Current Makeup Bag Favourites #1

I’ve decided to start a new little feature over here on Katie’s Beauty Blog, named Current Makeup Bag Favs.  I often switch up my makeup bag and the products which I use daily and love, but often forget to mention or write about (probably because I just assume that everyone knows about them!) – so here I can rave about how much I’ve been loving them and bring them to your attention!

I recently ran out of my MAC’s Blacktrack Fluidline liner and was using a liquid pen type liner but realised I really missed gel liner.  So I went along to Boots and purchased the Maybelline Lasting Drama Gel Liner and hoped it would be a cheaper alternative and I really do love it.  It is so similar to the MAC fluidline, it leaves a thick, pigmented line of colour on my eyelid and is incredibly soft, creamy and easy to use.  It also comes with a little brush for applying which is fab.
I have been carrying around a few Clinique products in my bag recently – the Lid Smoothie in Cashew Later which makes for a gorgeous shimmery nude base for eye shadows (which I wear on top of my Urban Decay Primer Potion, pictured above!).  I’ve also been LOVING the new Chubby Sticks Intense.  As you know I love my lipsticks – this is like a moisturizing lippie with an incredible burst of colour.  I have the shade Curviest Caramel, which is a natural, nude brownish pink which is makes my lips look incredible.  I highly recommend these!
Over the top of my eye bases, I’ve been loving the Smooch eye shadow Duo in Seattle which includes a shimmery gold and a greyish brown eye shadow which I’ve been using along with my Rimmel Brow Pen (as a brow filler AND an eyeliner) and my Max Factor False Lash Effect Mascara to create an easy smokey eye.
Recently I have been becoming more and more concerned with fine lines and wrinkles around my eyes (I am in my mid 20s now and need to start working on preventing these!) and so I have been using Eysilix every morning before I apply my makeup to my eye area.  I haven’t noticed any effects but I feel like I’m at least doing something to help this area of skin!
Finally, two staples by MAC have been creating my daily look – the Studio Finish Concealer in NW15 (this must be my fourth pot, I get through them like crazy) which I use to touch up throughout the day, and MAC’s Strada Blush (now unfortunately discontinued) which is my perfect contour shade for winter.
There we have it – my favourite daily makeup bag favourites!  Let me know if you enjoyed reading this and I’ll be sure to make it more of a regular feature!
What’s currently in your makeup bag?  Do you use eye creams before applying makeup?
